Goal
The toothbrush cup holder is intended as a functional everyday object: robust, easy to clean and free from unnecessary parts. It is printed as a single part and can be screwed or bonded to the wall depending on the surface.
Construction
The holder has no moving components. Generous radii and an open geometry are intended to let water drain and reduce deposits.
The model is designed to print without supports. Key dimensions such as cup diameter, wall clearance, wall thickness and holder height should ultimately be adjustable as parameters.
Material choice
PETG is a stronger starting point than basic PLA for permanently damp environments. The final recommendation still depends on printing temperature, wall thickness, load and the actual bathroom conditions.
Mounting options
- Screwed: permanent and load-bearing, but requires suitable wall plugs and inspection of the substrate.
- Bonded: avoids drilling, but needs a sufficiently large, clean and degreased contact surface.
Still to validate
Before publication, the cup interface, tested print settings, load tests, mounting details and an actually printable model file still need to be documented.
